Today is a sad day. The senate passed S. 3930 which does many things but worst of all destroys the most cherished writ – the writ of habeas corpus (950j part(b)). It has been quite a brutal week for Vice President Cheney. First there was the week long expose by the Washington Post on the unprecedented power wielded by the office of Vice President. Then another article in the Washington Post reports that Cheney believes he is not part of the Executive Branch.
